Andy Peisely: Podcast Notes

Peisely, A. (2025) EDU721. Week 4, Podcast 1. [Online] Available at: https://learn.falmouth.ac.uk/courses/1334/pages/week-4-designing-and-creating-podcasts-and-instructional-videos?module_item_id=85524 (accessed 16.06.25)

How confidently do we feel?

Students often like the umms and urrs and the pauses left in un polished recordings because it reminds them that we are human beings. This can help them to become more engaged with the subject. As long as they can see and hear what you are trying to communicate.

It is more valuable to give students the information rather than send them a delayed polished result.

Spend time on the pedagogical design elements and how it was integrated with the rest of the course, rather than focusing on the production value.

Videos that are ‘fit for purpose’.

How well the podcast content and activities in that podcast integrate with other elements of the curriculum and is relevant to my particular students.
