Teachable- can be used to build online courses, it works in a similar way to Canvas, and tutors can upload and store webcasts, etc. There are forum options for student collaboration and a whole range of courses can be added to build a full curriculum. It’s reasonably priced and easy to use. (This now sounds like a sales pitch.) I have been a participant on several courses using this platform and it is very intuitive. If I can use it, anyone can! https://teachable.com/Links to an external site.
THINKIFIC, I have had some experience with this learning platform as my current cohort of students are taking an online anatomy course through an outside provider who uses this platform. It is reasonably easy to access, and students can be offered discounts and incentives to encourage them to progress through the online course. This platform has a useful tool that enables tutors to interact with learners if learners get answers wrong on imbedded quizzes, or if students don’t log into the course for some time, tutors are alerted so they can check on learners’ progress. The downside of this platform, as far as I can tell, is that it doesn’t allow for synchronous sessions to take place, unlike the Teachable platform mentioned above. I think this platform is generally aimed more at a business market rather than an education market. https://www.thinkific.com/Links to an external site.
Comment from Hein: That feature in Thinkific where tutors get alerts if a student is falling behind sounds really helpful—especially for keeping learners engaged in an asynchronous environment.
MOODLE. I experienced Moodle while taking my MA at SOAS, University of London. This platform is designed for education settings and is used by many universities throughout the UK. It is very similar to Canvas, although on a personal note, I find Canvas easier to navigate. This learning platform is more suited to larger organisations with multiple users rather than self-employed individuals with small businesses (like mine) https://moodle.org/Links to an external site.

Padlet, You can do collaborative brainstorming, mind mapping, and sharing multimedia posts on a virtual wall. Ideal for group idea generation or peer feedback. I found out this tool from my colleague's online teaching webinars and I have used in workshops to encourage student interaction and collaboration. H5P, Creating interactive content like quizzes, drag-and-drop tasks, and presentations within an LMS. Supports formative assessment well. I found out through PGCHE modules on digital tools and e-learning support sessions and have used to design interactive quizzes for student learning. Mentimeter. This one is really useful for real-time audience polling, quizzes, and word clouds for instant feedback during live sessions. I learnt about this tool in one of my university webinars. I have used in my synchronous classes to check understanding and promote participation. More info: https://www.mentimeter.comLinks to an external site.

360Learning It is an all-rounded learning management system that sets itself apart from others with its focus on collaborative learning. It can be used to create courses and by businesses to close skill gaps. Learners can have a say in their learning through crowdsourced learning needs. Experts could be invited to review and improve courses. It could be used for interactive quizzes; however, it lacks interactive elements. It is best for businesses seeking a collaborative approach to learning and development.
